Ingredients:
1 pre-sliced frozen banana
2/3 cup frozen cherries
2-4 T unsweetened almond milk
1 T vanilla extract
1 serving Flipping50 Plant or Paleo Power vanilla Protein Powder
1 T raw cacao powder

Raw cacao nibs
Instructions:
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor (or high-powered blender) and blend until smooth. Transfer to a dish and freeze for 2-3 hours or until hardened into a scoopable consistency. Serve and enjoy!
Hint: Freezing too long can make this too hard to scoop. You want it frozen just-enough.
Who doesn’t love some ice cream in summer? When dairy doesn’t love you back though, it’s time for a substitute. What’s better than sugar free, fat free chemical substitutes? Fruit and protein combined to reduce the sugar impact.
When to enjoy it?
Finish a meal with this one and you will further reduce sugar impact (compared to having it on an empty stomach).
High protein recipes throughout the day keep your blood sugar stable and therefore your energy is also stable.
Let’s face it, treats are important. So find ones that reward your tastebuds without punishing your gut.
In terms of macronutrients you’re getting carbs in the banana, fat in the coconut milk and protein powder can help boost the overall protein content of your evening meal.
You can create variations easily!
- Instead of cherries, use any berries.
- Instead of chocolate make it vanilla.
- Skip the cherries and berries and add a hint of mint extract.
Be prepared!
Deprivation doesn’t work. You’ll always have reasons to make a dessert or treat for yourself or someone else. It’s best to be ready and to make room for things you enjoy every day. High protein recipes like this will help!
