Of all the things we’re thinking of in 2020 during COVID19 our hormone balance, muscle and bone density concerns don’t disappear.

  1. Why did you decide to focus your practice on treating women with osteoporosis?
  2. Why do we lose bone as we age and isn’t losing bone just a normal part of the aging process?
  3. How is osteoporosis diagnosed?
  4. You have a unique and integrative approach to addressing osteoporosis called the BONES Method….can you tell us a little about this method for treating bone loss?
  5. You are the host of the Healthy Aging Summit that starts on June 4th, can you tell the audience a little bit about the summit and what topics will be covered.

  1. Can you talk ab about Osteopenia of the spine? Are there exercises one should not do, even if you are fit and strong?

  2. Debra Atkinson

forceful forward flexion (crunches and sit ups are not good for anyone, but if you’re still doing those.. definitely not.
and what we call BLT… bending, lifting, twisting moves. You’ll be able to find many blogs and podcasts on the topic if you use the “search” feature and look for osteoporosis. Most importantly.. what should you DO.. absolutely eat enough protein, lift weights 2x a week to fatigue gradually increasing the weight over months so you can fatigue in 10-12 repetitions. and stay active with other weight bearing exercise. https://www.flippingfifty.com/bone-health-mini-course may be of interest to you and so might https://www.flippingfifty.com/getstronger if you don’t already have a comprehensive strength program going on yet.

  3. I see the summit has been canceled 🙁 is there anymore info on this? Reschedule date? Thanks!
